Giacomo Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” premiered in 1904 at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The opera tells the story of a young Japanese girl named Cio-Cio San, the Japanese word for “butterfly,” who marries and is then left by her husband, an American naval officer named Pinkerton. The scent of the candle combines the blooming sakura and sweet verbena spread on by Cio-Cio San, as she waits for the return of the man she loves. This luxurious candle is presented in a stunning glass holder and shipped in a stylish black and golden box.

Made by the French company Un Soir à L’Opéra, this single-wick candle celebrates the world of opera and ballet using sumptuous fragrances from Grasse, France—the world’s perfume capital. A detail of the staging, a musical score, a choreographic movement serves as inspiration to this collection of delicate and exquisite candles that are often called an olfactive symphony reminiscent of another time.

All candles are made with special care in France by candle makers who respect the French tradition and create a perfect harmony between the perfume, the natural wax, and the cotton wick. Each has a candle flame time of 45 hours.
