These lovely turtle boxes from Java are hand-carved and dyed using the Batik process to create intricate motifs, as well as a velvety texture over the entire surface of the box. The upper shell lifts off to reveal a hollowed compartment inside that can be used to store small trinkets, jewelry, and even guitar picks. Each box is unique, so patterns, sizes, and colors will vary. Made of soft Albesia wood.
