Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: Anthology

Released in celebration of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s 50th anniversary, the hits in this collection were handpicked by the band’s members. With its signature sound of contemporary country rock and roots music, the band is joined by talented vocalists, including Johnny Cash, Kenny Loggins, Linda Ronstadt, and many more.

 The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band exhibit in MIM’s Artist Gallery features the Martin “D-18” guitar played on the 1970 hit recording, “Mr. Bojangles,” and John McEuen’s first banjo, a 1920s Ludwig “Riviera,” which he converted into a five-string instrument. This exhibit is made possible with loans courtesy of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and John McEuen.
