Maiteí América: Harps of Paraguay
Regular price
$18.00
The harp is a singular symbol of Paraguayan music and national identity. European missionaries introduced the harp, along with other instruments, to this inland country from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, but it was the harp that inspired both players and listeners to embrace the exceptional musical form that developed around the instrument.
This CD offers a variety of harp music performed by three generations of Paraguay’s best harpists—music for listening, applauding, and dancing! The Paraguayan harp is a central feature of MIM’s Paraguay exhibit.
