With roots originating in West Africa, the agogo bell is also the key instrument in the Carnaval parades in Brazil and the stirring dance rhythms of Cuba. It consists of two connected metal (usually steel) bells, which are struck by a wooden stick to produce a bell-like sound that enables the player to vary both pitch and rhythm. MIM’s agogo bells are made in Ghana and are available in two sizes.
