Following the Billboard chart-topping Violin Lullabies, Rachel Barton Pine joins with Germany’s distinguished Gottinger Symphonie Orchestra and its acclaimed principal conductor, Christoph-Mathias Mueller, to present Mendelssohn’s celebrated violin concerto alongside the great, though lesser-known, concerto by Robert Schumann. The Chicago Tribune praised Pine’s performance of Mendelssohn’s concerto, saying, “the Mendelssohn is one of those fiddle war horses that every young soloist plays but few can play as beautifully” as Pine does.
Rachel Barton Pine brings to life the distinctive sounds of several historic violins in original performance videos filmed for MIM’s special exhibition Stradivarius and the Golden Age of Violins and Guitars.
