The Marwari design combines patterns of foliage with symbolic animal heads designed to protect the wearer. These earrings are hollow, and extremely comfortable to wear. They are crafted using the repoussé technique - a fading art that was once a specialty of the Kathmandu Valley. Handcrafted in sterling silver.
In Nepali, Kaligarh (kā-li-garh) means artisan – someone specialized in a craft or art form, usually working by hand. It is also the name of the Fair Trade company that works with artisans to create beautiful jewelry with motifs and designs that are inherited from past generations and interpreted into new forms. Each Kaligarh product is handmade by small-scale artisans in Nepal and elsewhere in the Himalaya.
