Romeo and Juliet Night Jasmine Candle

The designer of this candle tells us that the balcony scene was her inspiration, and that the candle’s olfactory score is Bergamot, rose, jasmine, violet, Gaiac Wood, and Clary sage. Night Jasmine is considered an aphrodisiac flower, and is often considered to have erotic power—in art it is a symbol of love and romanticism. In the famous Pas de Deux balcony scene from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet”, as the dancers kiss for the first time, the scent of the Night Jasmine grows stronger, enveloping the pure and innocent young lovers with its sensual fragrance. “Romeo and Juliet” is a ballet by Sergei Prokofiev based on William Shakespeare's play by the same title. The full ballet premiered in the Mahen Theatre in the Czech Republic in 1938.

Made by the French company Un Soir de L’Opera, this single-wick candle celebrates the world of opera and ballet using sumptuous fragrances from Grasse, France—the world’s perfume capital.  A detail of the staging, a musical score, a choreographic movement serves as inspiration to this collection of delicate and exquisite candles that are often called an olfactive symphony reminiscent of another time.

All candles are made with special care in France by candle makers who respect the French tradition and create a perfect harmony between the perfume, the natural wax, and the cotton wick.  Each has a candle flame time of 45 hours.
